A 25% non-refundable deposit is required once the contract is signed.
Manuscript Evaluation
$250 for manuscripts under 50,000 words
$300 for manuscripts over 50,000 words
Developmental Edit
One Round: $8 per page. Each page is 250 words.
Two Rounds: $10 per page. Each page is 250 words.
50,000 words: $1,600 (1 round), $2,000 (2 rounds)
Copyediting
Two Rounds: $6 per page. Each page is 250 words.
Three Rounds: $8 per page. Each page is 250 words.
50,000 words: $1,200 (2 rounds), $1,600 (3 rounds)
Proofreading
Two Rounds: $4 per page. Each page is 250 words.
Three Rounds: $6 per page. Each page is 250 words.

Book Coaching
$25 for a 30-minute video call.
$35 for a 60-minute video phone call.
Packages are combined with the number of video call sessions and editing services used on the manuscript over the duration of the project. Estimates are given before the start of the service.

Do you offer payment plans?
Manuscript Mender offers payment plans. There is a 25% retainer fee paid once the contract is signed, then the following 75% is spread between the duration of the project. The final payment is collected before the manuscript edits are returned to the author.
Do you offer samples?
Yes, Manuscript Mender offer a free 1,000-word sample, so the author can decide if they are a good fit for partnership. A free 30-minute consultation is also available to discuss recommended services and intial project planning.
Does Manuscript Mender work with first-time authors?
Yes, Manuscript Mender works with first-time authors. If you're writing your debut book, Manuscript Mender is happy to assist in realizing your dream, whether you're pursuing traditional publishing or self-publishing.
What style guide do you use for editing?
Manuscript Mender uses the Chicago Manual of Style to align with industry standards. If an author or publisher has a "house style," Manuscript Mender can work within their standards to ensure all revisions align with the preferred editing style.
